What will you receive?

Based around the ADDIE Model of Instructional Design, the toolkit for all course options is divided into sections reflective of the ADDIE steps. This allows you to really bring your learning to life through practical and experiential application.

  1. Analyse

Analyse the environment to identify existing knowledge, skills, and behaviours.

Key questions you might ask include:

  • Who are the audience and how are they segmented?
  • What is the current level of capability of the relevant audience segements?
  • What measurable knowledge, skills, and behaviours are needed to fulfil the learning need?
  • What are the business objectives that this learning program will achieve?
  • What challenges, barriers, or constraints exist?
  • Does the learning program need to be delivered multi-modally?
  • What are the timeframes?
  • Who are the key stakeholders and how do they want to be kept informed?

The following documents are provided to support the Analyse phase:

  • Learning Needs Analysis template
  • Learning Needs Analysis – Guide for completion
  • Learning Needs Analysis Summary template

  1. Design

Now is the time to really get creative – in a logical and structured way! You will deep dive into the data you have gathered in the Analyse phase and start to storyboard the solution.

Here is where we define:

  • Learning outcomes, objectives, or goals
  • The assessment methods that will be used to measure learning transfer in participants
  • The interactive and engaging activities that will bring the learning to life
  • The high-level content and media needed

The key output from this phase is a High-Level Design, which is the ‘design skeleton’ listing all content, activities, and resources required.

The following documents are provided to support the Design phase:

  • Learning Strategy template
  • High Level Design template (for face-to-face learning)
  • eLearning Storyboard template
  • Activity examples

  1. Develop

After signing off the high level design of the program, it’s time to start developing all materials needed to deliver the program. Where necessary, key stakeholders might review draft materials and provide feedback, which is incorporated to produce pilot-ready materials.

The following documents are provided to support the Develop phase:

  • Assessment template
  • Facilitator Guide template
  • Learner Workbook template
  • PowerPoint Deck template
  • Job Aid template
  • Leader Support Guide template
  • Review and Sign-Off template
  • Icon library

  1. Implement

It’s now time to road-test our solution! This may be done as a formal rollout of the program or simply a small pilot for a ‘test and learn’ option before formal rollout.

In this phase, as well as running the program, we might run Facilitator upskill workshops or leader workshops to engage and educate leaders on the key role they’ll play in the success of the program.

The following documents are provided to support the Implement phase:

  • Train the Trainer template

  1. Evaluate

The final stage in the ADDIE Model is to review the effectiveness of the program and materials to see if we ‘hit the mark’, using both a formative and summative evaluation strategy.

The following documents are provided to support the Implement phase:

  • Questionnaire templates
  • Focus Group template
  • Observation Checklist template
  • Evaluation Report template

What participants say

I was fresh out of completing a Master of Adult and Vocational Education when I got a job as a company’s first in-house Instructional Designer. Having little to no templates to work from, the ADDIE Toolkit was a godsend. The templates and guides within the Toolkit are comprehensive, yet concise. They guide you through the learning design process step by step – perfect for someone with limited experience in the L&D industry. I highly recommend this Toolkit for anyone starting out in Instructional Design.

Richard

I recommend the ADDIE Toolkit to any Instructional Designer that is looking for elegant and easy to use templates. I have received many complements from my clients since purchasing the Toolkit.

Priya

This ADDIE Toolkit has been a lifesaver! After having worked as a Lead Instructional Designer in a large organisation for many years, I decided to go out on my own. I was daunted by the fact that I didn’t have my own templates, however this toolkit gave me all that I needed. I changed the logos, then I was ready for business!
